Pastor Sеxuаllу Aѕѕаultѕ Mеmbеr

Pastor Edmund Karikari Agyei who is the head Pastor of Faith Word Ministry in Accra has been granted bail after being remanded for...
fondling the breast and kissing a female church member. The accused committed this offence on the notion of praying for the victim Angela Nartey.

According to Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire the prosecutor, Pastor Edmund claimed he had a revelation about Angela and they arranged to meet to pray and hence the incident. The accused however denied the offence and was granted bail in the sum of GH¢ 10,000 in a court presided over by Mrs Ruby Naa Adjeley Quayson. This was after the lawyer of the accused, Andrew Vortia argued the assertions of the prosecution.

According to Mr Vortia, the accused applied oil on the navel of Angela and not her vagina as stated in the facts of the police. The case has however been adjourned to the 26th of September, 2016.
Angela is a student living with her family at Chantan in Accra and they are members of Faith Word Ministry presided over by Edmund Karikari Agyei, the head pastor. After a prayer meeting at the church on the 26th of July, 2016, the accused told the parents of the complainant that he had a revelation about her and opted to meet her for prayers.

On August 30th, the accused contacted the complainant and her mother to remind them of the revelation. At about 4pm that same day, Angela’s mother instructed her daughter to go see the accused which lead to the incident. The accused told the complainant he had another revelation about her having abdominal pains in a chat in his room and asked her to sit on an anointing oil which she obliged.

The accused then folded the sweater Angela was wearing upwards and pulled her trousers a bit downwards and applied the anointing oil on her abdomen and navel. He then raised Angela from the sofa, kissed her and touched her breast the prosecutor said.

Pastor Edmund was apprehended by the police after a report was lodged with the accused admitting to the offence.
