The Ashanti regional Police Command has interdicted a warrant officer, Evans Kubeadzor, for endorsing bail for one of Kumasi’s alleged most wanted..
cocaine dealer. The alleged narcotic drug dealer, Kofi Asamoah, was arrested last year at Atonsu in the Ashanti regional capital with 82 grams of cocaine at his hideout. The suspect was admitted to bail to the tune of GH¢ 100,000.00 by the Kumasi High Court with two sureties one of which is to be justified, but the command says it was not aware of the bail conditions leading to the release of the suspect. Ashanti regional Police Prosecutor, Emmanuel Ackonor, told Ultimate Fm’s Isaac Bediako “a disciplinary action has been initiated.
For now, he has been served with interdiction letter but we are still investigating what made him sign something he is not a party to because we don’t understand how quickly that bail was executed. "He was granted bail on the 18th and the same 18th, within some few minutes, the bail has been executed and per the condition that was given by the Judge, it means that it will take more than five days even to do the authentication of the documents that has to be brought to the registrar, and within a twinkle of an eye, the Police Officer had endorsed the bail for the guy to go”.
